02/24/2016 – The Freshmen and Sophomore IB students will be participating in the ninth annual Nease IB Beach Cleanup service project on Saturday, April 16, 2016. The students will clean all 39 miles of shoreline in St. Johns County in one half day. Approximately 150 students and 15 parents will be involved in the cleanup.
The beaches of St. Johns County are a precious resource and we’re proud that our students have undertaken such an important environmental project. Our beaches are a pleasure for people from around the world to visit. As well, keeping our coastline clean has a global impact.
The beach cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 9:00am – Noon. To ensure organization and maximum time to complete the cleanup, the 39 miles of beach have been marked off by mile, and each mile will have a team of freshmen or sophomores with a group leader who is in charge of his or her team members. There will be check-in/check-out “stations” and there will be adult volunteers at each station. For more information, please read the 2016 Beach Cleanup Announcement Letter.
